Ilya Kovalchuk gives a team 40 goals a year guaranteed. That’s great in fantasy leagues, but in “real life” hockey, what else does he bring?

Last time i checked, a Stanley Cup winner was built on more than just offense. What will happen with Peter Mueller and Chris Stewart? They are both RFAs – and it doesn’t look like Colorado will sign Mueller (or Stewart) until Mueller is cleared to pay (which should be soon). Mueller was on fire when he went to Colorado near the end of the season (20pts in 15 games!) and Stewart did very well with Mueller’s arrival.
Both will be looking for raises, probably at least in the $3M range that Duchene is currently making. Much like the Bobby Ryan saga, . . . → Read More: The Colorado Waiting Game
